Generating a new map will
delete your current track. Would you like to export your design before continuing?
To our new Locating Engineer,
May 10, 1904
The railway has proven itself the lifeblood of industry, and we have been commissioned to drive fresh spurs into the rugged corners of this territory to open the way for new opportunities.
Your charge is to find a route that maximizes the 20-year Return on Investment. You must balance the immediate cost of earthworks against the long-term efficiency of the grade.
Be advised: only the most profitable layout will secure the contract. It is yours to win!
I. Drafting the Route
Click the terrain to place track nodes.
Drag nodes to adjust the horizontal alignment.
Drag Handles to maintain curvature limits.
II. Grading the Profile
Use the Profile Panel at the bottom of your screen.
Drag nodes vertically to set track elevation.
Keep grades below 4% for heavy tonnage.
III. Analysis Tools
Toggle the View Mode to identify curvature and grade bottlenecks where locomotives will
lose traction.
Engineering Strategy
Minimize Cut & Fill to reduce CapEx. A shorter, flatter route maximizes long-term profit
and ROI.
